Water in the basement is a concern no homeowner wants to deal with—especially when a sump pump is already in place. That was the case with this Glocester client, who had been battling water intrusion even though their sump pump seemed to be working.
Upon inspection, we found that while the sump pump was discharging water away from the house, the outlet location and slope allowed water to flow back toward the foundation. Compounding the issue were gutter downspouts that emptied too close to the house.
To solve this for good, we installed a single, efficient discharge line that tied together the sump pump and gutter drains—routing them well away from the home. We also installed French drains along the exterior perimeter of the foundation, designed to collect and carry away groundwater before it ever had a chance to reach the basement.
The result is a dry, secure foundation and a homeowner who can finally enjoy peace of mind—rain or shine. It’s a great reminder that even the best equipment needs smart planning to work its best.
